The Bible Commands us to study The Word daily. It's not just a book! It is so much more, for those who call on the name of Jesus the Christ.
Act 17:10
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Act 17:12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. Act 17:13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people. Act 17:14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.Their are so many religions, so many different views on how to be saved. How do you know what to believe? The Scriptures say: Gal 1:7 "....... there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ" & John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" & 1Jn 2:7 "Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning" & Mar 12:24 "And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?" & John 5:39 "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me (Jesus)" & 2Ti 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2Co 11:4 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
So What's the punch line? You already read it: go back to the source. I have heard a saying, if you buy a car, you will want to know all about it. From top to bottom, inside and out. Yah, you could learn some from the guy down the street, or from the salesman who wants to make a buck. There is only one way to know all that the car has to offer, when to do maintenance, what maintenance to do, how to handle that car on corners or even on the straight ways, what kind of gas works best, oil to use, tire pressure, etc. But, there is only one BEST source and authority best suited to tell you every detail about the car so it will last and give you the best of satisfaction (Joy) that it has to offer! Likewise, God did not make us and then leave us on this planet to figure it out for ourselves. He gave us the full manual, not a Chilton's or even just a Haines, he gave us the Factory Manual straight from the Manufacturer! Full detail, Pictures, glossary w/definitions.
2Tim 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" 2Tim 3:17 "That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. "
You can either believe what whoever says, or you can do the work as 
. So what is the work a Berean does? This is best Quoted: Act 17:11 "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." A lot of Pastors, Preachers, Teachers or even Buddies have many different RULES / REGULATIONS on having success in entering heaven (or for that matter "living on paradise Earth forever". But the Truth of the matter is this - What does the word say? All of these people seem to quote the Bible to validate their version of the Truth, in reality it is the Bible that should be the guide to the Truth. It should be us "the Bereans" to seek the Truth of what we hear.
So, do you just sit at Church or at a Friends house and say "Wow, I didn't Know that!" Could it be that the Bible is telling the Truth when it says: Mar 12:24 "And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?" Could it be that you have not "searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.Are you A Berean? Do you know the TRUTH of God's Word? Are you believing the Lie? Even Satan quoted Scripture: Mat 4:6 "And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone." Is it so hard to think that there are not liars even in a Church! Don't get me wrong here! I go to a wonderful church that I believe teaches the Truth of God's Word, but even still, my Pastor is Human after all. Luke 12:42 "And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?" Luke 12:43 "Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." Yes, I am to be a Faithful and WISE steward. How could I Honestly stand before the Lord and say " I have sought out the Truth and here I am to claim my reward" if I have not honestly sought out the Truth. I am not here to bicker Doctrine with you, on the contrary, Rom 14:19 "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things where with one may edify another." 1Th 5:11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do." But, if you feel bickering coming on, please, by all means, take it up with the Lord Deut 32:6 "Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?"

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;Heb 13:9

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. Don't wait to seek the Word of God, it just may be to late when you do! Be now while there is still time, don't deceive yourselves with what you FEEL is right in the eyes of the Lord - Prove it. No one has ever been condemned for Proving the Word of God in their own heart.
